Boring bar mounting
Cautionary points in replacing boring tool with oil-hole “Tungaloy Stream Jet Bar” for positive inserts
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
● This product has sharp edges. Be careful in handling them.
● A safety shield and safety glasses should always be used when machining to protect personnel from flying chips or a broken piece of the tool.
● Immediately after machining, the tool and workpiece remain high temperature. Do not touch them with your bare hands to prevent a burn.
● Do not touch a burr on an edge of a workpiece to prevent possible injury.
● Water insoluble cutting fluids are not recommended because their fumes may catch fire.
● Before using the tool, make sure the insert is completely fastened. Incomplete fastening may cause injury together with breakage of the tool.
CAUTIONARY POINTS IN REPLACING TOOLHOLDER
● When inserting the toolholder into the specified coolant-supplying sleeve or adjusting the overhang length, be sure to wear a heavy work glove.
● When the oil-hole is clogged with chips, clean the hole from the both end by using an air blast or a wire. A foreign matter in the oil-hole may disturb the flow of cutting fluid and reduce the effect.
● When mounting the carbide-shank toolholder on a tool post, direct contact of the shank and bolt point should be avoided to prevent the shank breakage. Indirect clamping of the shank through the specially designed sleeve as shown in figure below is recommended. For selecting the sleeve, refer to our general catalog.
● When mounting the carbide-shank toolholder on a tool post, any screw or spacer should not be placed between the base plate of the tool post and the flattened bottom face of the shank. Non-observance may cause breakage of the carbide shank
